Removal Paralegal
Working in immigration law makes every day count.
Removal Paralegal for Saavedra & Perez Law
As a Removal Paralegal at Saavedra & Perez, I work alongside our attorneys to support clients facing removal proceedings. I bring over two years of immigration law experience and a deep legal background, including my Master of Laws from Penn State. My role involves carefully preparing every detail of our clients’ cases, researching their legal options, and telling their stories in a way that honors their courage and resilience.
Why this work matters to me
We work for something beyond just a paycheck—we put our hearts into helping people who had the courage to leave their home countries to build a better future for themselves and their families. Every case represents someone’s dreams, someone’s family, someone’s future. That’s what makes every day count.
My favorite part of the work I do is researching, writing life stories, and paying close attention to every detail—all with the special purpose of helping ease the fear and uncertainty that people face during removal proceedings.
Where do I feel like I belong?
I belong to my safe place—my dad, my mom, and my brothers. Deep in my heart, I carry the Colombian Caribbean and State College (Happy Valley) in the U.S. These are places that have helped me grow, and for that, I feel deeply grateful. I know I belong to them because no matter where I am in the world, just thinking about them makes me smile.
Stories, running, and dancing
I really enjoy running and dancing. I love Arabic and Mexican food. I have a special fascination with reading or listening to life stories, short tales, or novels—especially if they fall under magical realism, my favorite genre. I am even happier when my dad or my grandmother tells those stories.
