$1,000 Saavedra & Perez Law Scholarship – Challenges and Resilience: Personal Stories of Immigrant Families in Pursuit of the American Dream
Saavedra & Perez Law, a firm deeply committed to justice, equity, and immigrant advocacy, is proud to sponsor a $1,000 scholarship for students who want to explore the resilience, strength, and hope of immigrant families striving toward the American Dream.
This scholarship invites eligible high school and university students to share powerful personal stories or those of their families, highlighting the triumphs and struggles faced while adapting to a new life in the United States. Whether it’s your journey or someone else’s, the focus should be on adaptation, sacrifice, and perseverance in pursuit of opportunity.
We welcome applications from undocumented students and DACA recipients.
Essay Topic
Challenges and Resilience: Personal Stories of Immigrant Families in Pursuit of the American Dream
Your essay should examine the immigrant experience with honesty and depth. Use personal reflection, narrative storytelling, and/or research to illuminate the complexities of adjusting to life in a new country while holding on to identity, family values, and hope.
We’re looking for compelling, well-structured essays that educate and inspire. Your voice matters—let it be heard.

- Award Amount: $1,000
- Essay Length: 1,000 words (essays that do not meet the word count will not be considered)

Eligibility Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Must be enrolled or about to enroll in an accredited undergraduate, graduate, or community college program in the U.S.
- Open to high school seniors, college, and graduate students
- Undocumented and DACA students are eligible to apply
- High school students must provide a college/university acceptance letter
